Lightsabers cause interference

At the beginning of The Phantom Menace, when Qui-gon, and Obi-wan start fighting, the Trade Federation ship loses the transmission from watching the two Jedi. And they get it back when the Jedi shut off their Lightsabers and run away.

And when Luke boards the ship in The Mandalorian and starts fighting the Dark Trooper droids, the screen on the bridge gets a bunch of interference.

I'm thinking it's the Lightsabers that cause it. It's not mentioned or shown until their Lightsabers are ignited. Something to add to the functions or effects of a Lightsaber. It could also explain how the Dark Troopers seemed to sense that Luke was coming, if they can sense that signal interference.

That would add to the mystique of the Jedi, if they can't be recorded in action.

Optional, of course.

Transmission Interference - An activated Lightsaber can interfere with transmitted signals. Roll a d20. Even numbers cause static and intermittent signal loss. Odd numbers cause total disruption or loss of a transmitted signal.
