Practice with a Training Remote

- The almost magical, ancient image of Master Bodo Baas rose up from the Holocron. He said, "The Training Remote has been used for ages to train Jedi. With your Lightsaber and Using the Force, you must Deflect the Remote's Blaster Bolt from hitting you. Repeat as many times as needed until successful and you are ready to move on."

"Then repeat the cadence to Redirect it's Blaster Bolt back to the Remote."

"After succeeding with those assignments, you may increase the number of Blaster Bolts any amount, up to a maximum of six. Repeat these cadences until you can continuously succeed." The image froze a moment, then continued: "You may then add a second Remote and repeat the cadences with both Remotes," the holograms said.

Master Baas says "May the Force be with You." and then simply says, "Proceed," and the Training Remote (Power of the Jedi pg. 57 / Hero's Guide pg. 154) begins firing at you.
_____
No Surprise Round. Roll for Initiative. You need the stats for the Training Remote and your Character. The Training Remote can use the highest Stun setting. Don't forget Battlemind, Enhance Ability (STR), and Extend Force. Don't continue on if your character doesn't have Deflect (Attack) yet.

Take your time.

You can repeat and practice with the Training Remotes anytime.

  1. Zenji vs. Training Remote

Both Zenji and the Training Remote have an Initiative Modifier of +2. Zenji rolls a 4 and that equals 6, and the Remote rolls 9 which equals 11. The Remote goes first and fires.

    Remote1 rolls 15 + 8 (ranged attack bonus) equals 23. Against Zenji's Defense is a Hit!

Zenji rolls saving throw of 8 added to his FORT equals 17. He beats the Stun DC for Blaster Pistols but is stunned (RCR pg. 288) for 1 round. Zenji draws and activates his Lightsaber (Quick Draw) after the effect wears off.

Remote1 gives him the chance to recover, then moves to the right side and fires. Zenji declares using Deflect (Defense). Remote1 rolls a 7 + 8 equals 15.

Zenji deflects the Blaster Bolt into the floor. Zenji decides to use Total Defense raising his Defense by +4.

Remote1 fires again. Zenji again declares using Deflect (Defense). Remote1 rolls 12 + 8 for 20.

Zenji deflects the Blaster Bolt into the wall behind Remote1. He'll still use Total Defense.

Remote1 fires another Blaster Bolt. Zenji once more declares using Deflect (Defense). Remote1 rolls 13 + 8 for 21.

Zenji deflects the Blaster Bolt into the floor again. Zenji will try next without Total Defense in order to use Deflect (Attack).

Remote1 moves to the left and fires a Blaster Bolt. Zenji declares again to use Deflect (Defense) and Deflect (Attack). Remote1 rolls 10 + 8 for 18 and it misses Zenji by less than 5.

Zenji can redirect the attack and rolls 18 + 11 (for Zenji's Lightsaber attack bonus) - 4 (redirect penalty) for 25, beating Remote1's Defense.

Remote1 lowers to the floor and shuts off.

Master Baas said, "Very good, once you ignited your Lightsaber."
